Hexnet.org license

And legal whatnot

Hello there.

Copy what you like of content specific to this site for non-commercial purposes, but please provide attribution where appropriate. With the exception of material in the public domain, articles and blog posts written by third parties that appear here remain the intellectual property of their authors. Please contact them for any intellectual-property-related inquiries.

The Hexnet.org logo and the Hexnet.org name are the intellectual property of the administrator of this site. They may be used for non-commercial or artistic purposes where clear attribution is given, and they are clearly associated with this site, and not just used as random clipart or whatever. (And here I speak particularly of the logo, which I am very fond of. I think it looks nice.) The logo remains my property and I reserve the right to use it as I see fit for any shamelessly commercial purposes that suit me.

To any other Hexnets out there: I have been using the "Hexnet" name in various capacities, on various projects, throughout the internet and elsewhere, since 1994. I invented it before you did. So you know you can keep on using it and and shit, but don't be all like "you stole our name." I did not. I had it first. I have paperwork to prove it. Thank you.

On that note: Hexnet.org is separate from and unrelated to the Hexnet Ontological Society, a not-for-profit corporation in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. There is a conceptual overlap between the two, but I am in no way presenting this site, its contents, or its various commercial enterprises as in any way affiliated the HOS or any other religious organization, movement, or what have you. Hexnet.org is a personal project of its administrator. There is no corporation or company behind this site. Though I of course reserve the right to turn it into one in the future, if that seems like a good idea.

Please also read our privacy policy, if you're into that sort of thing.

For more information on any of this, please contact hexnet@hexnet.org. Thank you.
