Call for contributions
Hexnet.org is intended to be both a catchall outlet for my various & sundry fits of self-expression, as well as a focal point and aggregation center for the larger hexagonal community on the internet (as well as perhaps the dozenal community, if only because they seem to presently lack any really well-fleshed-out, modern, dynamic web presence). The former purpose will probably take a while to get going, since I will not hold back the launch of this site until I write a sufficient volume of creative work to give the illusion of content. Thus I intend to rely heavily on community involvement to make this a pertinent and worthy destination for interesting people in the near term. Specifically, I encourage anyone with any interest in hexagons, dozenalism, or interesting things generally to consider creating a post.
I am very much interested in gathering contributions for the Hexagonal Library. I have included at the moment several antiquated, out-of-copyright fragments relevant to hexagons, but I would ideally like to expand this to include a variety of resources from knowledgeable people applying hexagonal principles to their fields of expertise. I am in particular looking for people with mathematical competences to write hexagon-related material relevant to various fields of math that I do not understand at all. I am not a mathematician, and I don't even feel comfortable playing one on the internet, and there are a number of interesting hexagonal issues in group theory, linear algebra, et cetera, that I would like to see explored in greater detail. There have been some interesting papers published in this vein, unfortunately the structure of academic publishing at the moment makes it very difficult to reproduce published papers here, though I do link to several of them in the Hexagonal Links section. If you are a mathematician, or something resembling a mathematician, and you are interested in having your relevant work hosted here, or even developing original content for Hexnet.org, please contact me. Thank you.
The blogs and fora will be continually monitored for work that would be worth elevating to other areas of the site, so if you are interested in becoming involved in the hexagonal community please do contribute there. In the future I hope to develop a tiered system of editors and moderators for this site to help develop and bring forward original content from a broad base of community contributors. That may be pretty far out at this point, though.
